The Senior AV Engineer is responsible for dealing with 3rd line technical support functions for this Regional University ICT Services. They will be responsible for troubleshooting problems, solving issues and being the technical escalation point on the ground regarding any unresolved calls whilst keeping all parties informed and monitoring operational and service level agreements.

This position assists staff and students with technical support of Audio Visual (AV) and related technologies. Support includes installation, testing and configuring AV systems. The Senior AV Engineer will provide support to University staff covering a number sites and a number of teaching rooms across the different campuses. Common support problems dealt with include AV hardware problems with control system errors, configuration problems with AMX and EXTRON systems. They will be responsible for the day to day technical activities and acting as the face of ICT when visiting users to ensure their issues are successfully resolved.

This role includes installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, upgrading, and resolving AV hardware and software issues. The individual will be providing AV hardware and software support with thorough knowledge of the control programming systems. The candidate must be well skilled in planning and executing large scale AV project for installation of teaching equipment.

The AV Senior Engineer will have deep knowledge and experience of dealing with AV issues such as, projectors, touchscreen control panels, interactive white boards, smart software, visualizers, speakers, microphone systems, amps, lecture capture and other AV peripherals. This role will also require manual handling and comprehensive health and safety knowledge.

This position requires an individual who is a strong team player and has the ability to complete tickets quickly within published service levels (SLA). It is critical the individual has excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate technical terms to non- technical personnel. The candidate must have the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities effectively in a large Higher Education environment.


Salary: 35000 - 42000 Annually - Permanent
