Video Engineering Technician

West London based technical support Service Company to the film and broadcast industries are looking for an experienced tech with a background in the audio / visual world. They provide state-of-the-art specialist film equipment to production companies for use on blockbuster feature films as well as broadcast productions. This is an unusual opportunity for a technician to get involved in an expanding team working in the exciting environment of moving image.

You don’t necessarily have to have film based technical experience but instead must have an interest for electronics, engineering and an understanding of general AV disciplines. Working alongside a renowned senior engineer you will be building video and equipment, calibrating monitors, custom making cables for equipment racks and troubleshooting rental equipment which has gone to set.

As an engineer technician your technical knowledge of audio and video processes will be put to use, as well as your ability to understand and interpret wiring designs. From your experience within AV you will have excellent neat soldering skills and a background within electronics repair. You must have a full driving licence as you will be required to drop equipment to set.

Working within the fast paced film industry you will have to be able to work under pressure when it’s called for and be able to get tasks done on time, after all the show must always go on. You will occasionally have to talk with the client to remotely trouble shoot issues or even arrive on site to physically fix issues. Working within film on blockbuster productions a certain level of discretion is required.

This is a permanent position with a basic salary of £30k-£35k depending on experience.
