Storytelling and the rise of video

I've been finding it interesting that people have very different perspectives on what content any marketing videos or adverts should have whilst at the same time all of them are adamant that video is definitely the way to go.  Of course, once again, it's "innovation" that we are told is ALWAYS the key - something I'm not totally convinced by; not least because it's a bit of a nebulous concept; and not always, not every time.
